Leg Ulcer
This service is provided by a registered nurse who has undertaken specialised training in leg ulcer management to include:-
- Leg ulcer assessment
- Use of Doppler
- Application of compression bandaging
- Application of topical treatments
Patients are reviewed by registered nurse until discharged.
Nurse Led Glaucoma Clinic
This service is provided by a registered nurse who has undertaken specialised training in the management of glaucoma to include:
- assessment and examination of eye
- to measure intraocular eye pressure.
- to provide information and advice to patients suffering from glaucoma.
- to assist in the reduction of waiting times for patients referred from regional hospital.
Midwifery led care has just started and there has been an increase in the promotion and uptake of dominos in the past year. Gynae clinics are also held four times weekly.

Mary Crawford – Nurse Led Ulcer Clinic 2.5 hours twice week
Mary McConnell – Epilepsy 1 day a week 7.5 hours

Leg Ulcer Clinic - Held weekly – Monday 2-5 pm
Continence Clinic – Held two monthly – Tuesday 2-5 pm
Hypertension Clinic – Held three monthly – Tuesday 10-1 pm
Diabetic Clinic – Held monthly – Tuesday 10-1 pm
Five diabetic clinics per year led by Sally Griffin – Diabetic Nurse Specialist.
Remaining led by treatment room nurse. On occasions when Sally is holding clinic, treatment room nurse carries out over 75-assessment clinic i.e. five times per year.
