Hotel Services Department |
The Hotel Services department provides a range of Support Services to Daisy Hill Hospital and other Trust Facilities. The department forms an integral part of the day to day running of the hospital and the Trust Facilities.
The Hotel Services department endeavours to provide a quality assured responsive and accessible service delivered in such a manner that those cared for are afforded the utmost respect and dignity at all times.
Approximately 200 staff are employed in the department.
The Hotel Services department provides the following services: -
Catering
The Catering department at Daisy Hill Hospital provides a traditional catering service to approximately 200 patients daily using a trayed meal system.
A diverse range of therapeutic diets are catered for. The department also provides approximately 200 lunches to a number of Trust facilities located in the Newry and Bessbrook area.
A Catering service is provided to our staff restaurant. The service includes: hot counter, salad bar, sandwich and snack bar, and this service is available to hospital visitors.
A traditional Catering service is also provided in our residential facilities.

Domestic Services
The Domestic Service department provides a wide range of services to all wards and departments in Daisy Hill Hospital and all our Trust Facilities. The services provided include a cleaning and beverage service, linen service, accommodation, repair and replacement of soft furnishings.

Portering / Security Service
The Portering/Security department provides a 24-hour, 7-day week service to the Daisy Hill Hospital site.

The Portering department carries out a variety of duties including; transportation of patients, goods and equipment throughout the hospital.

The Security department endeavours to ensure the personal safety of patients, clients, staff and visitors and protection of their property against theft, fraud and damage.

TSSU Service
The Theatre Sterile Supply Unit provides a comprehensive range of sterile services to theatres, wards and departments in Daisy Hill Hospital and other Trust Facilities.
The department was refurbished in 2003 to comply with legislative requirements in relation to decontamination.

Stores / Aids and Appliances Service
The Stores department is responsible for the receipt and distribution of stock and non-stock items for Daisy Hill Hospital and Trust Facilities.
The Aids and Appliances department is responsible for the receipt and distribution of all stock and non-stock aids and appliances to clients within Newry and Mourne Trust and is located at Edward Street Newry.
Switchboard Department
The Switchboard department at Daisy Hill Hospital provides a range of communication services to the public.
Hotel Services Secretarial Support
The Administration support staffs provide a range of secretarial services to the Hotel Services Department and to Daisy Hill Hospital and Trust Facilities.
