14.03.08 Calling all parents

14 March 2008

Calling all parents

The Southern Health and Social Care Trust is calling on parents and carers of children to share their views on paediatric services in the Newry and Mourne area.

The Trust is setting up a Paediatric Service User Group to help in reviewing and planning services for young people in the area.

If you are a parent or guardian of a child who has used paediatric services within the last five years, the Trust would like to invite you to share your views on how these services can be developed.

Dr Bassam Aljarad, Associate Medical Director for Children and Young People in the Southern Trust says: “This is a chance for parents or carers of children to shape and influence how children’s services are delivered in the Newry and Mourne area. The people who use our services are best placed to tell us how they can be improved. We are very keen to hear the views of parents or carers on current services and would love them to share their ideas about how these can be developed in the future.”

The group will consist mainly of parents and guardians to work alongside nursing and medical staff.

If you are interested in participating in the group or would like to raise a particular issue on regarding paediatric services please contact Dr Aljarad’s Secretary Tel: 028 3083 5221.
