BANNVALE HORTICULTURE UNIT
Bannvale Horticulture Unit provides Day Care and work experience opportunities for 20 attendees with a learning disability.
The unit is staffed by 1 x Day Care Worker Level 2/Horticulturist and 1 x Day Care Worker Level 2.
The unit uses Horticultural programmes to raise self-esteem, motivation and general well being.
This therapeutic work is a way of helping our attendees to improve their skills in horticulture while developing social and leisure activities.
The horticultural unit provides a varied weekly programme, which includes relevant input from Allied Health Professionals, Education (e.g. Further Education Colleges), Medical, Community Nursing and Social Work Team.
The Horticultural programmes include:
- Nursery Stock Production
- Hard Landscaping
- Soft Landscaping
- Garden Design
