MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
If you or the person you care for have difficulty coping or feel that you
have mental health needs (due to depression or anxiety) speak to your GP about this. You need to tell your doctor how you are feeling and how it affects your daily life. Your doctor may refer you to the Mental Health Team for further assessment and support by Community Psychiatric Nurses or Social Workers. The Mental Health Team comprises of many professional workers who all work closely together to meet the client’s needs. Initially you may want to speak to your GP about accessing these services. Asking for help – everyone needs help from time to time. It’s OK to ask for help, even though it feels difficult, whether it’s from friends and family, or from your doctor, nurse, a local support group or Helpline.
