Early Years Team

Craigavon and Banbridge Trust has a statutory responsibility to Register and Inspect Early Years Provision within the Trust area. To carry out this task we have an Early Years Social Work Team. This Team consists of four Early Years Social Workers who are presently based within the various Child Care Teams within the Trust: Portadown, Lurgan, Brownlow and Banbridge. This Team is managed by the Early Years Team Manager who is based in the Child and Family Care Office at Bocombra, Portadown.

Part of the Early Years Team’s remit is to support, encourage and develop Early Years Provision within the Trust area. The Team will make a quick response to all those wishing to provide Early Years Services should these be potential Childminders, Playgroups, Day Nurseries, Out of School Clubs, Crèches, etc

The Early Years Team also assume the quality of provision by helping to identify Training Needs, making sure staffing levels are adequate and generally inspecting in line with legislation. The Team will also identify areas of need and specific groups who may not have equal access to Early Years Services such as minority ethnic groups, children with disabilities and rural settings, etc.
