DOMICILIARY SERVICES (Home Care Services)Home Care (Domiciliary) Services are provided to assist you to remain at home and enjoy a quality of life, which affords you a high degree of dignity and independence and can also provide respite and support for carers. Domiciliary or home-based services will help you with personal activities of daily living, e.g. getting up and going to bed, dressing and undressing, eating, drinking, help during the night, use of toilet if required and many other types of personal care. A District Nurse or Social Worker from the Trust will undertake an assessment of your needs to ensure that you are able to live at home and that you will receive the help, which you require. The assessment of need will also include the carer’s respite needs, however carers are entitled to have a separate assessment on request under the Carers and Direct Payments Act (NI) April 2002. Services will be either provided directly by the Trust’s or be provided in partnership with voluntary or private service providers.
