DISTRICT NURSING SERVICEThe District Nursing Service is a team of nurses with a wide range of skills, knowledge and expertise. District Nurses provide nursing care, support and information to patients and carers, and/or arrange for other services to be provided to support people in their own homes or residential homes. Referrals to the District Nursing Service are accepted from patients, carers, hospitals, General Practitioners and other health and social care professionals. District Nurses provide a service 7 days per week, 365 days per year from 9am to 12 midnight. Care is provided for people who need assistance due to:- Palliative/terminal illness, Chronic illness, Continence/catheter care, Wound care and Support of Families.
