Role of ADHD Specialist Nurse

ADHD specialist nurse works within the Community Pediatric Dept Lurgan and is a member of a multidisciplinary team providing services for children with ADHD and their families. This includes being involved in the assessment and diagnosis process and review of children with ADHD using evidence based protocols and adjusting therapeutic interventions as required under the supervision of a Pediatric Consultant - Dr Hughes.

There is the provision of ongoing support to the family, which includes information and education about ADHD and exploring behavior support strategies with families to enable them to cope with family life. The ADHD service offers accessible support to families and to professionals involved with families. The Specialist Nurse facilitates families in availing of other supports in the wider community
