Coalisland Health Awareness Open Day
21/07/2014There was something for everyone at the recent Health Awareness Open Day in Coalisland Community Hub at Western House in Coalisland. The event provided an opportunity for members from the statutory, voluntary and community sector and the wider Coalisland Community to visit the recently established Community Hub and learn about the various health programmes funded through the DSD Neighbourhood Renewal Programme and supported by a number of other funding bodies.
Councillor Dominic Molloy, Deputy Mayor of Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council, said: “I was delighted to extend a welcome to visitors to Coalisland especially Alison Moore, from the Department of Foreign Affairs, and Jim McQuaid, Deputy Chairperson Coalisland & Dungannon Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership.”
“I would like to acknowledge the important contribution of all the agencies who hosted information stands. The event would not have been a success without the support of the residents from the Coalisland Neighbourhood Renewal area and surrounding areas. I would also like to thank the programme facilitators for their hard work and dedication.”
Other key guests included Paul Carr Deputy Director at the Department for Social Development, and Cáthal Mallaghan, Chair of Mid Ulster Council.
DSD Regional Development Office Deputy Director Paul Carr said: “This project is a great example of effective partnership working, and offers a wide range of support and services across the entire community.”
The event was organised by the Southern Health and Social Care Trust in partnership with the Neighbourhood Renewal Group.
