DELTA Annual Meeting
20/03/2014This year’s annual meeting of the DELTA parenting programme on Monday 7 April at 10am in Newry Teachers’ Centre will highlight research by two academics from Queen’s University.
Sarah Miller and Helen Harrison from the Centre for Effective Education at Queen’s University, Belfast, have evaluated the Developing Everyone’s Learning & Thinking Abilities (DELTA) programme and will present their findings.
Ciaran Eastwood, Head of Early Years and Parenting at the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, says: “We’re delighted that Sarah and Helen have analysed a random group of parents who have participated in parenting programmes through DELTA. Our previous evaluation shows that parents who take part in structured parenting programmes report increased feelings of confidence when caring for their child or children. Programmes provide parents with knowledge of their child’s development, their child’s needs and ways of managing their child’s behaviour. We look forward to Dr Miller’s presentation at the meeting.”
