Do you have Type 2 Diabetes?
21/02/2014The Southern Trust delivers a number of education programmes for those living with Type 2 diabetes.
Each programme is delivered by a Diabetes Specialist Nurse and a Diabetes Specialist Dietitian. There are two programmes starting in Dungannon during March:
The Southern Education Type 2 diabetes programme is delivered over 2 days – Wednesday 12 March and Wednesday 19 March in South Tyrone Hospital from 9.30am-3.30pm.
The X-PERT Diabetes programme starts on Wednesday 26 March from 1.30-4pm at South Tyrone Hospital and continues every Wednesday afternoon for 6 weeks.
These specially designed programmes will provide you with the knowledge, confidence and skills that are needed for to self–manage your diabetes. Topics covered will include:
- What is Diabetes?
- Weight Management and Physical Activity
- Supermarket Tour
- Complications of Diabetes
You will have the opportunity to ask questions and explore any concerns you have with your diabetes as well as learning about how to manage your diabetes through diet, physical activity and medication.
