Free ‘Weigh to Health’ Programme
06/02/2014Would you like to improve your health, become more active and lose weight?
The Southern Trust invites adults who are overweight, interested in improving their health, become more active and lose weight, to join the ‘Weigh to Health’ programme on Wednesday 19 February 2014 from 10am-12.30pm in Western House, Coalisland.
This free seven week programme is co-ordinated by the Southern Trust Dietitans in partnership with the Public Health Agency and is offered as a Coalisland Neighbourhood Renewal programme, under the Department of Social Development.
The Weigh to Health programme aims to help people make healthier food choices, become more active and lose weight in a healthy way.
Colette O Brien, Dietitian, says “Weigh to Health helps people to develop the skills and confidence to start to make small realistic changes to their eating habits and levels of physical activity. The good news is that it uses a balanced healthy eating approach and people are surprised that they can lose weight but still enjoy their food”
This programme is an example of the Trust in Community initiative, where the Southern Trust works in partnership with the community and voluntary sector to support people in communities to live healthy lives and to improve their health and wellbeing.
