18/06/2012
The Southern Health and Social Care Trust has been working in partnership with local representatives of the British Medical Association in relation to the day of Industrial Action planned for Thursday, June 21st. A spokesperson for the Trust said: "While disruption to some services provided by doctors will be inevitable on the day of action, the Trust is working very closely with the British Medical Association to ensure that all urgent and emergency care will be provided across all Trust services. Patients whose appointments will be affected by industrial action will be notified directly before Thursday. If you have not had any communication from the Trust to advise that your appointment will be re-arranged, you should attend as normal."The Trust very much welcomes the position of the British Medical Association, that at all times patient safety is paramount and is therefore the key factor in any decisions taken relating to the day of industrial action."
