12 April 2007Families to benefit from home safety projectHealth visitors in Armagh and family support group Home-Start have received home safety equipment from Armagh and Dungannon Home Accident Prevention Groups. Ruth Briggs from Home-Start Armagh and Dungannon is delighted to be working with health visitors providing home safety equipment to families within the Dungannon Council area. “Home-Start is a voluntary organisation which is committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under five years of age,” says Ruth. “Trained Home-Start volunteers offer regular support, friendship and practical help to families under stress in their own homes helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown. With this home safety equipment we will also be able to help families protect their children in a very practical way.” Armagh health visiting team leader Debbie McCormack adds, “The majority of accidents that pre-school children are involved in happen in the home or garden and we are grateful to the Armagh Home Accident Group for their continued support.” The project has received funding from the Southern Investing in Health Partnership. |
