Work Right active citizens visit Stormont
The Work Right group from the Newry and Mourne area who are studying a citizenship module as part of their course have visited Parliament Buildings at Stormont.
The group, who attend the Southern Regional College Model Campus in Newry, undertaking the course as part of an alternatives to day care programme. They approached local MLA Mickey Brady and he invited the group to visit Stormont to encourage their active citizenship.
Eilish Killgallon, Community Access Officer for learning Disability at the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, says, “The group is working as part of an innovative partnership between the Southern Trust and Southern Regional College. On behalf of the participants, I would like to thank Mr Brady for taking the time to help organise and host the visit to Government Buildings. It was a very informative and fascinating visit.” |
