The Promoting Wellbeing Department (PWB) is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of its communities and to reducing health inequalities and disadvantage where this exists.
The Department is comprised of Health Promotion, Community Development and Community Sector Training staff who work across all Directorates - Children and Young People's Services, Mental Health and Disability Services, Acute Services, and Older People and Primary Care. There are three local Promoting Wellbeing Teams and two Directorate Leads – one to promote health and wellbeing across the Older People and Primary Care Directorate and the Disability Divisions, and one to work within Craigavon Area and Daisy Hill Hospitals.
The Promoting Wellbeing Department works in partnership with a broad range of organisations, communities and individuals to address the wider determinants of health and to provide a focus on key areas such as alcohol and drugs, accident prevention, cancer, falls prevention, mental health and physical activity. The nature of this work means that new services, initiatives and opportunities for engagement develop on a regular basis. The pages on the navigation panel on the right are designed to support you.
